Exercise "Vyčio skliautas 2026" – an Opportunity to put Preparedness to the Test
On 25 September, Lithuania launched "Vyčio skliautas 2026" ("Vytis Vault 2026"), its largest annual exercise to test the national mobilisation system. The exercise will continue until 3 October.
The exercise will provide a practical test of how prepared state and municipal institutions are to operate under mobilisation conditions. It will assess the activation of mobilisation management structures, information management, the mobilisation and allocation of resources, cooperation between institutions, continuity of operations, and the ability to maintain vital state functions in a changing security environment.
The exercise is for training purposes. Institutions will continue their normal operations throughout the exercise, and no action is required from the public.
"Vyčio skliautas 2026" ("Vytis Vault 2026") is organised by the National Crisis Management Centre and the Mobilisation and Civil Resistance Department under the Ministry of National Defence. Around 150 institutions are expected to take part, involving approximately 3,000 civil servants, officials and municipal representatives, as well as around 1,000 volunteers.
