This year, on 9-11 October 2026, the main focus of the traditional hackathon in Kaunas will be airspace security. The Lithuanian Riflemen's Union, together with its partners, invites participants to the hackathon "Flaming Shield'26: Defent the Sky", where technology developers and representatives from business, science and defence communities will present their ideas and look for practical solutions.
The focus on the sky is no coincidence. Today, its security is challenged by drone attacks, electronic warfare measures, cyber threats and many other factors.
Organised by the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union and Tech-Park Kaunas since 2023, "Flaming Shield" has grown steadily, and the hackathons have already produced a number of valuable solutions with practical applications.
